An underground Lehigh Valley tech group, “Brain’s On Fire,” has been getting some serious traction lately.

Started by myself, Anthony Durante from 28digits, and Mark Koberlein of Code Paint, brain’s on fire has grown from a 3 man, no agenda meetup group to an astounding 12+ person network that’s existence is spreading out to the Lehigh Valley tech scene, as well as to the Philadelphia area. People from other local business groups, as well as from the tech scene in Philly have started showing up to our get togethers to see what the buzz is about.

Last night, we all met for a social hour at P.J. Whelihan’s Pub. To our surprise, Ken Barber, who’s involved in the Philadelphia scene showed up to meet and greet, and stayed with us while we socialized about tech, entrepreneurship and life.

In addition, we also had EJ Victor show up, the president of the Lehigh Valley Network Of Young Professionals (among other things), to meet us and check out the scene. Great meeting you EJ, and we all look forward to interacting with you in the future.

There never was any real purpose for the group, but what seems to be happening is a pleasant interfacing between a lot of business and tech professionals in the Lehigh Valley, as well as a large awareness of some of the skills and services in the group that can be beneficial to other local businesses, and even bigger corporations.

We have computer repair companies, web developers, business administration professionals, IT support technicians, mobile app developers, co-working space creators, as well as participation from the manager of entrepreneurial services at Ben Franklin TechVentures, Wayne Barz.

Brain’s On Fire has quite the diverse group that all provide an array of technology and web services to people all over the Lehigh Valley. As we continue to grow, our networks will grow as well. We’ll be travelling out to other cities to interface with other meetup groups, as some of our people did this week in Philadelphia.
